I had the vision for the music on this album for a while now: an improvised music with acoustic and electronic layers, delicate and heavy, breathy and organic but also wild and groovy. an emphasis on sound, architecture and layers but at the same time not a total abandonment of tonality (harmony, melody) and grooves. to achieve this balance I found the perfect musicians to work with...I invited Elli, Philipp and Elias to a concert at Stadtgarten Cologne I was able to curate through NICA artist development and shortly after that planned the recording session in January of 2022. And again, I found the perfect person to record (and later mix, produce and master) the album with. After I chose the parts of the recorded improvisations and edited them (there's quite a lot of cuts and loops and edits on the record, some of which are very obvious, some not) Jan Philipp brought his organic, intuitive and sometimes unorthodox approach to mix, produce and just mess with the music (in the best possible way). The whole process of postproducing gave this improvised music an extra dimension, a frame, a composed feel.

Leif Berger Cologne, Germany

Since receiving his first drum set in 1997 Leif is a musician. Several stations later ( Skateboarding, etc.), he decides to dedicate his life to this passion and moves to Cologne. Here he learns things like improvisation, friendship, taking his dreams seriously, listening and plays in many bands.
