This album is produced entirely by me, Leif Berger.
The compositions on this project came together over the course of the last two years. The recording, producing and mixing started in October 2019.

In the process of making the album the compositions seemed to come together more and more and tell one story as a whole. So I started to think of the album as a soundtrack for a non-existent video game or a tv show. That thought definately influenced the title names and song order. In that aspect I would like to point out Jannis Sicker, Ian Alexander Griffith and Allan Holdsworth as Inspiration.

Leif Berger Cologne, Germany

Since receiving his first drum set in 1997 Leif is a musician. Several stations later ( Skateboarding, etc.), he decides to dedicate his life to this passion and moves to Cologne. Here he learns things like improvisation, friendship, taking his dreams seriously, listening and plays in many bands. Few pianist have studied the leading jazz guitarists of recent decades (Scofield, Towner, Frisell, Holdsworth, Monder et al.) as intesively as Pablo Held. On this basis one of the hottest jazz guitarists today was chosen to join the trio (a hot seat so to speak). An excellent record is the result: Poem #6 features an incredible level of band interaction and fantastic solos. Ascent also stands out with its post Weather Reportish magical middle section.
